Adam Completes Aspers Campaigns Team
Aspers at The Gate

A new recruit has completed the North East-based team that will co-ordinate marketing activities for the nationwide operations of Aspers Group, including the company's casinos in Newcastle, Swansea and Northampton.

Adam Page, 29, has joined Aspers as a Campaigns Manager. He will focus on promotional activities for the company's casino in Northampton, which recently celebrated its first anniversary, reporting to the Group Head of Marketing, June Alltimes, who is also based at Aspers at The Gate in Newgate Street, Newcastle.

"I was instantly attracted to this job when I first saw it advertised. Aspers is a well respected brand in the North East and the role gave me the chance to remain within the leisure industry," said Adam, who comes from Riding Mill. "I love the vibrant atmosphere of the casino, there's always something going on and no two days are the same."

Adam has joined Aspers shortly after returning from a round-the-world trip, which saw him visit the USA, South East Asia and Australia. Prior to this he worked as a press officer for Newcastle United, before spending two years as the marketing manager for a leading North East dance radio station.

"The appointment of Adam is the final piece in the jigsaw of a reshaped marketing team that focuses all our resources here in Newcastle," said Richard Noble, Chief Operating Officer of Aspers Group. "His previous job roles, combined with his other experiences, make him the ideal candidate and he will make a valuable contribution as we continue to build the Aspers brand."

Adam will work closely with his colleagues around the UK to develop and implement campaigns that will drive footfall and increase consumer spend. He will work alongside Tracy Kenny, who joined the company in January as Campaigns Manager, focusing on the Newcastle site.

"I'm currently working on the relaunch of Aspers loyalty scheme, Aspire, which allows customers to collect and redeem points every time they visit," added Adam. "With more than 137,500 members in Newcastle alone, this is already one of the most successful loyalty programmes in the gaming industry, and we're looking to make it even better."

Notes to Editors:

  • Aspers is a 45,000ft2 leisure facility in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne.
  • The venue includes bars, restaurant, beauty spa, live entertainment and state-of-the-art gaming facilities.
  • Aspers has attracted almost 138,000 members in just under four years from a catchment area covering Northumberland and County Durham, reaching across to Cumbria and down to York.
  • In late 2007 Aspers became the first casino operator in the country to launch a loyalty club - Aspire - that allows customers to collect and redeem points throughout its operations (including gaming). Customers are now able to gain points for every purchase made on the premises and can also earn bonus points on selected promotions.
  • In April 2008, Aspers became the first British casino to go 'membership free' which means that virtually all visitors can freely walk through the reception area without completing membership forms. Photo ID is required if you look under 21 and to join our Aspire Loyalty Club.
  • Visitors to Aspers must be 18 or over
  • At every Aspers location, the company has set up the Community Action for Responsible Gaming (CARG) programme. This initiative is unique to Aspers and is based on similar successful schemes in Australia and New Zealand. CARG is a voluntary, not-for-profit group that seeks to constructively address problem gambling issues in society through a working partnership between local community-based interest groups.
