Aspers Entices Diners with Penny Offer
Aspers at The Gate

A Newcastle leisure venue is celebrating the launch of its new menu with the 'Dine for a Penny' promotion, offering a main course for just 1p when another main meal is purchased.

After almost four successful years in Newcastle, Aspers at The Gate has seen the popularity of its restaurant Freya's go from strength to strength.  The 'Dine for a Penny' offer allows customers to choose from a scintillating selection of new dishes and old favourites, without breaking the bank.

"We've worked hard to combine established favourites with a selection of new seasonal dishes that will appeal to our wide range of customers," said Graham Hattam, Head of Hospitality. "From relaxed light lunches to an evening out or a special occasion, Freya's is an ideal venue within very unique surroundings."

New additions to the menu include delicious pork loin with bacon, succulent duck breast with crushed potatoes and mouth watering cod with mussels. The special offer is available Monday to Friday, 6pm to 11pm.

  • The venue includes bars, restaurant, beauty spa, live entertainment and state-of-the-art gaming facilities.
  • Aspers has attracted over 134,000 members in just over three and a half years from a catchment area covering Northumberland and County Durham, reaching across to Cumbria and down to York.
  • In late 2007 Aspers became the first casino operator in the country to launch a loyalty club - Aspire - that allows customers to collect and redeem points throughout its operations (including gaming).  Customers are now able to gain points for every purchase made on the premises and can also earn bonus points on selected promotions.

  • At every Aspers location, the company has set up the Community Action for Responsible Gaming (CARG) programme. This initiative is unique to Aspers and is based on similar successful schemes in Australia.
