Following on from the success of its first Laughter Lines Comedy Club earlier this year, Aspers at The Gate has announced a second evening of laughter and merriment featuring hilarious Irish-Iranian comic Patrick Monahan as the headline act.
The Christmas-themed comedy night, taking place on Sunday 12th December, will be hosted the popular Steffen Peddie, who has been described as 'The Big Man of North Comedy', supported by Kai Humphries, a rising star of the North East comedy scene. All proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Aspinall Foundation, a charity devoted to protecting rare and endanger animals.
"It's great to be performing in Newcastle again, especially in an unusual venue like Aspers," said Patrick, who was brought up in Middlesbrough. "Audiences in the North East are always up for a good night and it should be an evening to remember."
Tickets for Laughter Lines cost just £10, which includes a buffet supper. Doors open at 8pm, with the first act appearing around 8.45pm. The show will be held in Lady O's bar, next to the venue's Stowell Street entrance.
"The first Laughter Lines was a huge success and we thought Christmas would be a good time for a repeat performance," said Richard Smith, General Manager of Aspers at The Gate. "We knew that Simon Donald would be a hard act to follow, so we're delighted to have secured Patrick who is a first class comedy talent, while Steffen is back by popular demand."
