Sure bet, as staff members gain casino degree
Aspers at The Gate

Aspers staff members Andrea Batey and Gary Stevens, have been studying for the last two years for a Foundation degree in UK Casino Operations Management at Blackpool and The Flyde College, an associate college of Lancaster University.

Customer Services Managers Andrea, and Gary were among a team of eight Aspers staff members from across the UK who took part in the intensive two-year course alongside their full-time positions at the Newcastle casino, after they were recognised by the Aspers Group High Potential programme.

The graduates will now impart their additional knowledge of areas of the casino industry such as operations management, finance, staff training and marketing at Aspers at The Gate in Newcastle.

Speaking of her qualification, Andrea said: "To be nominated for the Aspers Group High Potential Programme in the first place was a huge surprise and a massive compliment that they believed I had such promise within the company, it also did my confidence the world of good.

Gary added: "The qualification was demanding, as it involved a lot of additional work but it was worth it for what it has given me. I now have a much more rounded and in depth understanding of how our business works, which will inevitably assist the business not just in the delivery of day to day operations but as we take a more strategic long term look ahead."

Richard Smith, General Manager at Aspers Newcastle said: "To be a member of the 'Aspers Group High Potential Programme' is a real recognition of the ability and potential of both Andrea and Gary. This qualification has provided them with a significantly deeper understanding of the casino industry and this is without doubt a significant benefit to the entire team here at Aspers in Newcastle."
