A first class management team has been appointed to run Aspers, the new £10m entertainment and casino complex opening in Commercial Street, Northampton in June.

The team is headed by Mark Darnell, a former Managing Director of the Rushden & Diamonds Football Club and former Director of the footwear company R Griggs Group.

Mark said: “I’m really pleased that we have been able to put together such a high calibre team to run the new venue. We’re all extremely busy recruiting staff and training people ready for the launch day of June 26 when we will then be up and running until 6am seven days a week.”

Mark is joined at Aspers by two former colleagues from Rushden & Diamonds – Hospitality Manager Trish Hill from Rushden and Financial Controller Lynne Frost from Wellingborough.

Trish launched the successful Seasons Bistro at The Diamond Centre in Irthlingborough, and is looking forward to launching a new high quality restaurant at Aspers.

HR Manager Pauline and Marketing and Events Manager Maggie Ladbrook have both worked in the casino industry for many years.

Maggie, who lives in Brixworth, has 30 years national casino industry experience under her belt, while Pauline, who lives in Northampton, has worked for a local casino for 18 years.

The management team also includes Mike Davey, who has relocated from Hull to take on the role of Customer Services Gaming Manager. Mike has worked in the casino industry for 19 years.

The team is supported by Elaine Nixey from Northampton.
