As a local business in the heart of the Newham community, Aspers Westfield Stratford City is delighted to support Newham College and the Learning Revolution Trust’s Shining Stars ceremony for another year.   The Learning Revolution Trust  was established by Newham College in 2012 and over that time has supported over 925 disadvantaged students in east London by removing the financial and social barriers to education.  Aspers’ vision and values is to be an employer of choice and we are dedicated to employing, training and developing local people to fulfil their potential.   Aspers is proud to be associated with the work done by both Newham College and the Learning Revolution Trust and fully support the investments being made to our community and with the employees of our future.  The Trust is committed to “Inspiring Lives” and Aspers will continue to support them during the year.

The awards ceremony is the largest fundraiser and this year the event raised £61,050.  Tony Gibbons, Group Managing Director of Aspers, presented the 19+ Student of the Year Award to Matt Fawcett who was receiving it on behalf of Benjamin Clarke who studied Access to Psychology Sciences.  With the course being moved online due to the pandemic, Benjamin was resourceful, innovative and took time out to find additional materials to enhance his learning experience and that of others.  His hard work, enthusiasm and resilience paid off and he was offered a place at a number of universities, finally accepting a place at Cambridge.
