  • Tony GibbonsManaging Director

    Tony joined Aspers in August 2020 as Managing Director of the Group, with responsibility for all aspects of the retail business, strengthening the Aspers’ senior management team.

    Tony has a wealth of experience in the leisure business within the UK and internationally and has led teams within leisure, entertainment and gambling businesses. For 12 years, while managing director at Noble Organisation he operated restaurants, bingo clubs, bowling alleys and casinos.

    He holds a postgraduate degree in management and marketing from the Open University.

  • David TaitGeneral Manager - Aspers Newcastle

    David started his gaming career in 2002 working for major Bingo operators in the UK,  where he became a General Manager of flagship sites in London and Kent.

    In June 2016 David moved across to the casino sector and Joined Aspers Casino Stratford, in January 2018 David relocated and was appointed General Manager of Aspers Newcastle.

  • Derek PlayfordChief Financial Officer

    Derek joined Aspers from the FCA regulated payments industry where he was CFO at Rational FX and part of the senior finance leadership team at Paysafe Group plc. Earlier in his career Derek helped Gala Coral manage and shape the transitions driven by the Smoking Ban and Gambling Act changes whilst FD at Gala Bingo, and as FD helped steer the Retail Betting Division as licencing was deregulated in Italy.

  • Damian AspinallChairman

    Educated at Millfield School, Somerset, Damian combines the running of one of the largest casino groups in the UK with his Chairmanship of the Aspinall Foundation, a globally unique conservation organisation.

    Damian has been involved with casinos his entire life, following a long family tradition. His father John Aspinall opened the UK’s first ever casino, the Clermont Club in Berkeley Square, in 1962 and went onto establish several other highly successful Mayfair casinos, eventually selling the estate in the late 1980’s for £90million. Damian bought back the family casino interests in 2000, in partnership with Australian associate James Packer, to form the Aspers Group.

    Having been brought up surrounded by the wild animals kept at the wildlife parks founded by his father at Howletts and Port Lympne in Kent, Damian’s abiding passion remains conservation and since taking over the running of The Aspinall Foundation from his father, Damian has overseen the breeding in captivity of hundreds of animals from rare and endangered species. In the last decade the Aspinall Foundation has returned scores of animals from endangered species to the wild and plans to increase the numbers returned in the coming years in the conservation projects the Foundation manages in Congo, Gabon, Indonesia and Madagascar.

  • Richard NobleCEO

    Richard started his management career within the gaming industry 28 years ago, joining Aspers as General Manager for Newcastle in 2006.

    He was appointed Chief Operating Officer in September 2008, where he has continued to oversee all commercial operations and the expansion of the business.

  • Bea StevensGeneral Manager - Aspers Stratford

    Bea started as a Trainee Croupier in 2002 at Grosvenor Casino, working her way up to Inspector and then moving to Bannatynes as a Cashier. 

    Bea joined Aspers Newcastle quickly moving from Cashier to Head Cashier.  She relocated to Aspers Stratford in 2011 to head up the Cash Desk.  Bea was promoted to Deputy General Manager in 2013 and was appointed General Manager of Aspers Stratford in 2015

  • Richard SmithOperations Director

    Richard was first employed in the casino industry at the Stakis Regency Casino in Leeds in 1984, starting as a trainee dealer. He was appointed to his first General Manager role by Ladbrokes in 2000. In January 2004 he was appointed General Manager of Gala Merchant City Casino.

    Richard joined Aspers in November 2008 as General Manager of Newcastle and was then appointed General Manager of Aspers Stratford in July 2011, becoming Group Operations Director in January 2016.

    He attained a Post Graduate Certificate in Casino Management (Distinction) from Salford University in 2000 and a Diploma in Management Science from Nottingham Business School in 2006.

  • Luke PerkinsGeneral Manager – Aspers Northampton

    Luke joined the Gaming Industry at the age of 18 in 1998 and trained as a croupier for Stakis in Northampton, going on to join Grosvenor in Reading as an Inspector. Luke went on to work in Ireland at The 78 Club, Sky City in New Zealand also had a period working for Century Casino Prague based on Silver Sea Cruise Ships.

    Luke joined Aspers Northampton in 2008 as an Operations Manager, moved to Player Relations Manager then progressed to Assistant General Manager where he successfully obtained a BA Hons Degree in Hospitality Management. In 2014 he moved to Milton Keynes as General Manager Designate. Having spent 6 months working as part of the senior management team at Aspers Stratford, Luke returned to Aspers Northampton to head up the site as General Manager.

  • Nigel HartlandGeneral Manager - The Casino MK

    Following 25 years in the bingo industry working for major operators as a General Manager and opening new builds in Scotland and the North East, Nigel started his Aspers career in August 2009 as a project manager.

    In December 2009 Nigel took over as General Manager of Aspers Northampton moving to Milton Keynes in January 2013 to oversee the launch of Aspers second large licence casino.
